One "victim" was not enough for a convincing victory
Tatarstan cynologists successfully performed during the III international open volunteer competitions of search cynological calculations, which ended in the city Satka, Chelyabinsk region. Our team, represented by dog handlers of the Search and Rescue Service at the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan, won the second place in the most difficult team stage of the competition.
The team stage is the most difficult and long route. Rescuers together with their dogs storm heights on a steep slope and organize descents, conduct river rafting and wade through the water element, conduct a variety of searches for victims in the natural environment (in the forest and caves), and on a man-made blockage. Sometimes it takes a day or even more from start to finish. It took our team 28 hours to overcome the grueling rescue marathon. But it wasn't enough to win a little.
In a year, volunteer rescuers and professionals will compete in these competitions in St. Petersburg.
