Aims of the Ministry

The Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan (hereinafter — the Ministry) was established and operates in order to implement powers of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of civil defense, prevention of emergency situations of inter-municipal and regional character, natural disasters and liquidation of their consequences, organizing of fire extinguishing, provision of people's safety water bodies.

Tasks of the Ministry

• participation in the implementation of the unified state policy in the field of civil defense, protection of population and territories from emergency situations of natural and man-made character, fire safety on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan;
• organization of fire extinguishing within its competence;
• prevention of inter-municipal and regional emergency situations, natural disasters and the elimination of their consequences;
• organization and conduct of civil defense activities within its competence.
