Crisis states, including suicidal intentions, often come with a lack of information about available ways to receive help, a lack of understanding of the nature of mental distress, and a lack of effective stress management skills. In this regard, the task of the psychologists of the 112 Service goes beyond purely situational assistance and includes active education and information.
The main vector of information and educational activities is the provision of information about available resources. This means not just a mechanical enumeration of contact information, but also the accumulation, systematization and transmission of information about specialized psychological assistance services, crisis centers, hotlines, as well as specialized medical and social institutions. Psychologists have the opportunity to provide relevant information at the time of a person's greatest vulnerability, helping them navigate the range of available support.
The second equally important aspect is education in the field of psychological literacy. This approach is aimed at raising public awareness of the signs of crisis conditions, normalizing access to psychological help and mental problems. Psychologists conduct preventive education, helping applicants to better understand their emotions, the nature of the crisis and ways to overcome it.
The central element in the work of psychologists of the 112 Service is the purposeful transfer of resource information. This assumes that information about available resources and self-help methods is provided not in a standardized manner, but taking into account the individual characteristics of the situation and the personality of the applicant. The psychologist acts as a guide, helping a person not only to learn, but also to use the available resources.
Further development and integration of these strategies, their adaptation to changing socio-psychological conditions, will strengthen the potential of the 112 Service and make a significant contribution to strengthening psychological health and reducing the level of suicidal activity in the Republic of Tatarstan.
