The cynological service of the EMERCOM of Russia turns 26 years old today
Today, the cynological service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia celebrates the next anniversary of its formation. In 1996, on this day, an order was signed on the creation of a search cynological service of the Centrospas detachment. Since then, four-legged fighters have become regular participants in rescue operations.
The dog handler and his pet are a single well–coordinated tandem in which they understand each other without a word. The efficiency of work depends on mutual understanding between a dog and a person, the result of which is saved lives. The task of animals is to find people, the task of a dog handler is to adapt his pet to difficult, and often extreme working conditions.
After all, the dogs of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia should be able to move in the mountains, fly by helicopter and look for victims in places inaccessible to humans. In a word, be brave. And all these qualities were combined by Labrador Merida, who has been serving in the Kazan search and Rescue squad for almost 7 years under the strict guidance of her mentor Asi Baderdinova.
But Maria Zorina as a rescue dog handler in the Kazan SRU just recently, only 2 years. But she has a lot of experience as a volunteer. She became a volunteer social activist at the age of 19. Since childhood, she loved to deal with dogs, and now she saves people.
Dogs are qualified in various specialties: search and rescue, mountain avalanche, water rescue, search for bodies of the dead, investigative service, mine search work.
Dog handlers train four–legged rescuers daily in order to search for the lost and injured as quickly and efficiently as possible, because time in emergency situations is one of the main factors affecting the result of a rescue operation.
