On January 19, 2018 at 11.22 AM, there was a report of power outage in Yelabuga. According to preliminary information, the entire city with a population of 70.2 thousand people, as well as objects of "Alabuga" special economic zone were hit by the shutdown. The reason of the disconnection is damage of an air line between the substations of Toyma 2 and Yelabuga 1, and, as a result, drawdown of automatics protection. The operational headquarters of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan has been created and in functioning.

Fire departments of Federal Fire Service of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan went on alert 37 times. Including garbage extinguishing – 7, false alarms – 5, short circuit of wiring without burning – 3, meal burning – 2, cooperation with other services – 13. Firefighters of the republic eliminated 4 fires: residential sector – 1. 1 person was injured.

From 10.00 AM on January 18 until 6.00 PM on January 19, 2017, the management bodies of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for RT and forces of constant readiness of territorial units and subordinate institutions function in the mode of "INCREASED READINESS". The Republic of Tatarstan has defined 104 places of baptismal bathing. To ensure the safety of festive events, the duty at bathing places is carried out by 579 people and 197 units of equipment. 104 heating points are deployed at the places of bathing.

This ice road became the third officially open ice passage. The distance of the passage is 3,200 meters. The average thickness of the measured ice on the passage was 30-35 cm, and the net was 25 cm, which will allow the traffic of vehicles with a capacity of not more than 2 tons. If necessary, the ice track is cleaned from snow. For the safety there are rescue facilities on the passage.

Deputy Head of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan on the state fire service, Colonel of Internal Service, Rafail Motygullin, handed over a modern, equipped with the latest requirements in this area fire truck to the use of Leninogorsk District. The event was held on the basis of the Leninogorsk Fire and Rescue Garrison. It was attended by the Head of Leninogorsk District, Ryagat Khusainov.

EMERCOM of Russia organized an online survey for representatives of the business community, organizations and citizens of Russia, who will be able to assess the level of corruption risks and ongoing preventive work of the department in 2018. The received information will be used to improve the organization of counteraction to corruption, as well as to increase openness and transparency of the work carried out.

A photo contest initiated by the "Rescuer" newspaper of EMERCOM of Russia was launched under this name. The best photos sent to the contest will be published in the newspaper. The winners of 2017 will be awarded prizes from the editorial staff. Photos taken by employees of EMERCOM on the background of something unusual (it can be both an unusual workplace, and any interesting, funny case from work) are accepted for the contest. The main rule is that the person in the frame should be in the form of units of EMERCOM of Russia (rescuer, firefighter, GIMS, GPN inspector).

On January 15, 29th winter republican applied fire sport competitions started. The best sportsmen of the fire service units of the republic arrived to Almetyevsk for the participation. During four days more than 120 sportsmen-firefighters from Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Almetyevsk, Naberezhnye Chelny and Zelenodolsk will demonstrate professional skills in various kinds of competitions. The sports program includes two types of competitions: climbing the hook ladder and overcoming the hundred meter obstacle course.
