The first squad of the Federal Fire Service for the Republic of Tatarstan has determined the best team on carrying out rescue operations during the aftermath of road accidents. The competition was attended by 14 teams of 4 people each.The leader of the competition, both in practical and theoretical part, was the team of FRD-37. The team of FRD-9 was on the second place. These two teams will represent the first squad of the federal fire service in the republican competitions.

Fire departments of Federal Fire Service of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan went on alert 46 times. Including garbage extinguishing – 3, false alarms – 12, short circuit of wiring without burning – 2, meal burning – 0, cooperation with other services – 13, others – 2. Firefighters of the republic eliminated 14 fires: residential sector – 10, outhouses – 3, garden houses – 1. 1 person died, 1 person was injured.

Now those who do not grudge money, will reduce their way from one bank of the Volga to another for 70 kilometers and will save about an hour of driving a car. The distance of the ice road is 1300 m. Compared to last year, the current opening took place one month later. The reason is in the unusually warm weather, established in December. The thickness of the ice is 35-40 cm. On the eve of opening ice holes, GIMS inspectors carry out measurements of ice thickness of reservoirs. For safe staying of people at ice holes, the thickness of ice cover should not be less than 25 cm.

Firefighters of the republic eliminated 8 fires: private houses – 1, apartment buildings – 2, garages – 1, saunas – 4. 1 person died, 2 persons were injured, 3 people were saved.

The Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan calls residents to be attentive when heating the house. Home heating equipment (central heating, portable and stationary heaters and fireplaces) is one of the most frequent causes of fires in residential buildings during cold months. The main causes of fires at this time are faulty heating systems, placing of heating devices too close to flammable objects and defects of construction and installation of heating devices.

Today in Yelabuga District in the settlement of Pokrovskoe, an ice passage over the river Kama on the route 'the settlement of Pokrovsky — the village of Krasny Kluch, Nizhnekamsk District has been opened. Inspectors carried out ice measurements, checked all available normative and technical documentation and the availability of rescue means and gave permission to open it. The distance of the route is 680 meters, its width is 40 meters. The ice thickness at the moment is 25 cm. Traffic of vehicles weighing up to 2.5 tons is allowed. The journey shortens the route to the city of Nizhnekamsk for 90 km.
