Rescue of fishermen on thin ice

Today on Volga River about 11 o'clock in the morning has torn off 21 fishermen on an ice floe around settlement the Kamskoie Ustie near to the Armenian beach. The rescue operation of delivery of fishermen to coast was spent by employees of a fire brigade of the Kamskoie Ustie and rescuers from Laishevo.

The message on the panel of “01” rescue service has arrived approximately at 11.30 a.m. Moscow time from the fishermen suffering from disaster. Firemen at once have left a fire brigade of the Kamskoie Ustie and rescuers from Laishevo have left to render them aid on the hovercraft.

            It was found out that the thickness of ice floe where the big group of fishermen has accumulated, makes only 2-3 cm. It has not sustained such weight and has burst. A watercourse has incurred fishermen towards Spassky area. On the way the ice floe has joined to a dense ice cover on which it is possible to reach the coast. By this “life road” firefighters have deduced fishermen on the coast, someone have been transported on a vessel. Medical aid was not required to anybody.

Inveterate fans of ice fishing it have not stopped neither numerous preventions of employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, nor thin dangerous ice. There can be a case, which fortunately has not led to tragedy, will become as a lesson for them.
