Nineteen Persons Were Rescued At Fire in Ten-Storey Residential Building

On September 9, 2014 at 10:05 CPPS FGKU “OFPS-7 for the Republic of Tatarstan” received a fire report at the address Kazan, Aviastroitelny District, Akademika Pavlova St., 23a from the neighbors. The first to arrive to the scene was the guard on duty of FD-5 composed of 2 detachments on two tankers and ladders. By the time they arrived, there was a thick smoke coming out of the staircase.

The first detachment entered the building to search for people and eliminate the fire. The second GDZS unit conducted reconnaissance and rescue people from apartments. Duty guards FD-3 and FD-28 of OFPS-5 came to the rescue. Totally 19 people were rescued by the fire service staff. There was no injury.

The ladder was involved in extinguishing the fire on the 5th storey. Household goods and furniture in the apartment burned. The area of the fire was 10 sq. m. Also, switchboards and electrical cables were burning from 1 to 8 storey. The preliminary cause of the fire is defect in design and manufacture of electrical equipment.
