GIMS Employees Rescued Seven People in Volga

Today, at 10.51 from Glonass+112, it was reported that SPINNINGLINE SL-470 motorboat with seven passengers (three women and four men) were overturned in the Volga River opposite the settlement Tenki of Kamsko-Ustyinsky District; all were in the water. Two motorboats of Center of GIMS of EMERCOM of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan and five people were sent from Kazan and Kamskoye Ustye to help the distressed. Also, ZPSO №1 rescuers left from Kazan on a car with a rescue boat.

On arrival to the scene there was organized a prospecting near settlement Tenki. At 14.00, the victims were found on the shore near the settlement Tat. Saraly, they had reached the shore on their own. Six passengers were wearing life jackets, but there was not enough for one passenger. The victims received medical assistance, they refused hospitalization. Their boat also was evacuated to the shore by EMERCOM workers.

Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia in RT warns:

- before entering the water weather conditions must be taken into account;

- for safe navigation in a small boat there must be life jackets for all passengers;

- do not overload boats and launches, do not put the side of the boat under the wave;

- do not change places when a boat or a launch is moving, do not sit on the side of the boat and do not stand on the seats;

- do not jump from the side of boats and launches, do not try to grab the hardware fences, buoys and signs;

- do not enter a fairway by a small boat, do not swim to the passing ships, do not cross the course of such vessels;

- do not drive boats, launches and jetskis in places of people bathing.
