7 March 2014, Friday
Today, the event was visited by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chairman of the Commission on prevention and liquidation of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety Alexei Pesoshin and head of the Main Department of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister on Affairs of civil defense and emergencies of RT Rafis Khabibullin. They held an expanded meeting of Commission on prevention and liquidation of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety in Almetievsk municipal district. On the agenda two issues: the readiness of Almetyevsk for spring flood and measures for ensuring accident-free passing spring flood in 2014 and readiness for the spring flood Karabash water reservoir.

«The situation in 2012 can happen again. Nature cannot be controlled, but to predict and minimize loss can,» said Alexei Pesoshin. Flood 2012, which suffered 537 yard areas in the districts «Old Almetyevsk» and «Ursula», and also in the villages of Tikhonovka, Tishanovo, was declared an emergency situation in the region. Share of responsibility for the events laid on Karabash water-storage basin. However, today Director of the «OPTI for RPE» Gennady Fedotov said that the capacity of hydraulic structures of the reservoir is 250 m3/s, while in 2012 the water level was only 150 m3/s, and because of flooding in the old part of the city reservoir role not played. All because there were weather conditions, as the temperature of air in just two days rose from 3 to 20 degrees.

What will be the spring of this year, while accurate forecast nobody gives, but measures should be taken now.

Minister on Affairs of civil defense and emergencies of RT Rafis Khabibullin has instructed the heads of all departments and services to take on the special control the readiness for spring flood. In the shortest possible time to take comprehensive measures to inform the population about the current situation and to be instructed on the rules of safe behavior in zones of possible flooding
