8 July 2026, Wednesday

The increasing frequency of accidents on the water involving small vessels, as well as deaths while swimming in places not equipped for this purpose, force inspectors from the Center for State Inspection of Small Vessels of the Main directorate of the Russia EMERCOM for the Republic of Tatarstan to once again strongly remind citizens of strict observance of the rules for the operation of small vessels and recreation by the water.

As of July 6, 2026, 8 incidents involving small vessels were registered in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, as a result of which 5 people died, 8 more were rescued. At the beginning of the year, 404 violations of the rules of operation of small vessels were identified, 50 watercraft were placed in a specialized parking lot. A total of 32 incidents on the water were registered, as a result of which 24 people were killed, 1 of them a child, 17 people were rescued, 3 of them children.

Employees of the Russian EMERCOM remind boatmasters that before sailing, it is necessary to check the technical condition of the vessel and its equipment. You should also check all the necessary documents that are needed for safe operation.

Since the beginning of the bathing season in the republic, 16 accidents have occurred on the water, which killed 14 people, including 1 child. In connection with the recent tragic events, the staff of the SISV Center will strengthen patrolling of the water areas. It is also planned to maximize preventive raids as part of mobile groups in places of mass recreation of people near the water.

The hottest time is weekends. We urge residents and guests of Tatarstan to remember, even on vacation, that safety is above all! And following all the necessary rules is the key to the best and most relaxing vacation on the water.
