The discovery of debris or a fallen unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in a populated area or in nature is a situation that has been becoming more common lately. Many people's first instinct is to get closer, examine the drone, or even take it with them. However, it is strictly forbidden to do this for the sake of your own safety.
These are the main reasons why any UAV fragments should not be touched:
1. Risk of explosion and detonation
2. Chemical and toxic hazards
3. High-voltage voltage
4. Intelligence gathering and information leakage
What should I do when I find debris?
If you see fragments of a drone, strictly follow the following rules:
* Do not get close and do not try to lift anything.
* Do not photograph the device up close with a flash, as this may cause a detonation.
* Immediately move to a safe distance (at least 100-200 meters).
* Report the discovery: call 112, the unified emergency number. Clearly state your location and describe what you saw.
* Warn others to stay away from the crash site until specialists arrive.
