Regina Gayazova, Acting Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, presented information about incidents on the water when using small vessels during a briefing for media representatives on the topic: "On measures to reduce the accident rate of small vessels in the Republic of Tatarstan."
Regina Gayazova recalled that in the autumn, during the off-season, the risks of accidents with small vessels increase. According to her, this is due to the intensification of seasonal fishing, changes in weather conditions - wind, sometimes squally, wave, lowering water temperature.
According to the data provided, 7 incidents related to small vessels have been registered this year, as a result of which 2 people were killed, 7 more were rescued. The causes of accidents are falls from a small vessel while moving due to violations of maneuvering rules, a sharp deterioration in weather conditions, collisions with underwater obstacles.
