Today, Acting Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan Askhat Sadriev presented letters of thanks to volunteers who, during the International Multisport Tournament in the concept of the Fijital "Games of the Future" in Kazan from February 21 to March 3, 2024, assisted the specialists of the GBU "Service-112" to receive calls from foreign citizens.
Linguistic support of subscribers by the number "112" was provided by volunteers from among students of Kazan Federal University in 5 languages: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic. In preparation for the Games, volunteers were taught the rules for receiving emergency calls, and dialogues on communication with applicants were translated into foreign languages.
During the "Games of the Future" period, about 74 thousand calls were received to the single emergency call number "112," of which 31 were messages on ensuring the security of the Games of the Future (including 13 on providing assistance to foreign citizens).
The largest number of calls was to the police and ambulance. Specialists of the 112 Service kept the incident with foreign citizens under control until the arrival of emergency services. All those who applied were provided with timely assistance to emergency operational services.
