Today's scheduled meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan was devoted to the topic of ensuring comprehensive safety of the population during the New Year and Christmas holidays. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin, Head of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Rafis Khabibullin, as well as heads of all interested ministries and departments of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Opening the meeting, Rustam Nigmatullin noted that long New Year holidays with winter holidays are a holiday for residents of the republic and children, and busy days for the republican system of emergency prevention and response.
Every year, cases of people falling through the ice are registered on the reservoirs of the republic. Since the beginning of the current period, 6 incidents have been registered, 8 people were rescued, unfortunately 3 people died.
"I will ask all the leaders who will be given the floor to make an assessment of the readiness of the management bodies, forces and means, as well as subordinate facilities for the safe conduct of holidays" - said the Chairman of the CESFS of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Next, Konstantin Chanyshev, Deputy Head of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, made a report.
He said that this year, at the moment, 5,904 fires have occurred in the republic, in which 164 people were killed, 197 were injured of varying severity. The average number of fires per month and people killed in them during this period was one and a half times higher than the usual long-term average values.
Thus, at present it is necessary to focus the main efforts on the prevention of fires in settlements on objects with a mass stay of people and in residential buildings.
Some work has already been done for this.
As part of compliance with fire safety requirements during the use of pyrotechnic products by citizens, 775 adapted platforms for launching pyrotechnic products by citizens have been created in the republic.
These sites should be equipped with information stands with instructions on compliance with safety measures when using household pyrotechnic products by citizens.
After listening to the reports, the head of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Rafis Khabibullin recommended that the heads of municipal districts and formations continue to install autonomous fire detectors.
