On October 10, at 09:11, a message was received about the crash of a light aircraft L-410 the Menzelinsky flying club DOSAAF in the city of Menzelinsk. On board were 20 people (paratrooper cadets) and two crew members. The task force and forces of the Menzelinsky and Naberezhnochelninsky fire and rescue garrisons left for the scene.
The first fire departments arrived at the emergency site in 2 minutes. To avoid the ignition of the spilled jet fuel, firefighters launched a foam attack, creating a foam pillow. At the same time, with the help of a hydraulic emergency rescue tool, EMERCOM employees opened the fuselage of the aircraft to save the victims. 6 people were released, rescued and hospitalized in the medical institutions of Naberezhnye Chelny and Menzelinsk. Unfortunately, 16 people were recovered without signs of life.
