Fire safety of residential high-rise buildings requires special attention

In 2020, 49 man-made fires occurred in multi-apartment residential buildings with a height of 28 meters or more on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. Unfortunately, two people were killed and three people were injured in these fires. In order to reduce the risk of fire in high-rise residential buildings, to prevent the death and injury of people, according to the regulatory documents on fire safety, a number of basic requirements are imposed on these buildings.
 Public areas in multi-family residential buildings with a height of 28 meters or more must be equipped with an automatic fire alarm system. Residential building shall be equipped with a warning system and evacuation in case of fire, common corridors, smoke extraction system and air overpressure in the fire, and also features an internal fire-prevention water supply. All the above-mentioned fire protection equipment must be serviced by a specialized organization that has a license for this type of work from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. 
It is forbidden to erect any types of structures, partitions that are not provided for in the project documentation, during the construction of which access to fire protection equipment is restricted.
