How to save someone who fell through the ice: emergency workers take part in an online marathon for volunteer day

In order to promote the volunteer movement in Russia and attract new participants, as well as join forces in countering emerging threats, the #МЫВМЕСТЕ marathon will be held on December 5 in an online format, dedicated to the volunteer Day. It will involve rescuers and firefighters of EMERCOM of Russia in Republic of Tatarstan, who assisted with filming for a marathon.

At the request of the movement's volunteers, employees of the Tatarstan Central office of the Russian emergencies Ministry will organize training sessions and master classes on emergency assistance in emergency situations for students of Kazan Universities who wish to join the ranks of public rescuers of the Republic of Tatarstan.

This time, volunteers shoot training sessions on saving a drowning person who has fallen through the ice, actions in case of smoke in the room, applying a tire and other first aid to the victim.

The first practical lesson was held today at the SISV Center Of the main Department of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan. Especially for filming, rescuers of the Search and rescue service under the Ministry of emergency situations of the Republic of Tatarstan, cut a hole in the ice, and then put on life-saving wetsuits. Volunteers set up their cameras and gave the go-ahead to record a master class on actions in case of failure under the ice. Namely, how to get out of the ice trap.

 – Our main task is to create groups of public rescuers in each municipality of the Republic of Tatarstan, - said Damir Nurgaliev, coordinator of the youth movement of the Public popular front in the Republic of Tatarstan. - It would be great if they worked side by side with the Ministry of emergency situations and at the right time could provide all possible assistance to professional rescuers.
