On March 16, 2022, a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Protection of People and Territories from Emergencies and Fire Safety was held under the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, which was held by Deputy Plenipotentiary Igor Panshin via videoconference.

As part of the check of the readiness of the Republic of Tatarstan to respond to the flood hazard period and the fire hazard season, on March 16, Kazan reviewed the readiness of the management bodies and forces of the functional and territorial subsystems of the Unified State Emergency Prevention and Elimination System (RSRS) of the Republic of Tatarstan to ensure accident-free passage of spring flood, as well as the protection of settlements, economic facilities and social infrastructure from natural fires.
