March 1 is the World Civil Defense Day, which is celebrated with the aim of promoting knowledge about civil defense and raising the prestige of national rescue services. Russia is represented in the International Civil Defense Organization by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters.

   Fire safety, as before, remains one of the most relevant topics when conducting safety classes with children. Playing with matches, lighters, careless handling of fire cause tragic fires, as a result of which, sometimes, children die.

On March 1, civil defense classes were held throughout the country as part of the All-Russian lesson on Housing and Communal Services, timed to coincide with the World Civil Defense Day. World Civil Defense Day is celebrated on March 1. The International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) is the only intergovernmental organization that specializes in the field of civil defense and protection of the population at the international level.
