Against the background of a fire with the death of 11 people that occurred in a private boarding house for the elderly in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan initiated inspections of public and private institutions with round-the-clock stay of people. Today, specialists of the Prosecutor's Office together with inspectors of the department of supervision and preventive work in the Vakhitov district of Kazan conducted a fire safety check of a private boarding house for the elderly located on Tazi Gizzat Street.

On january 17, the Pokrovskoye – Krasny Klyuch ice crossing was opened between Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk districts according to the results of the technical inspection of the SISV center, with a permissible vehicle weight of up to 3.5 tons (around the clock).

Fourteen years ago, Sergei Ryzhov, senior lieutenant of the internal service, head of the guard of the 18th fire department of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan, died in the line of duty. On December 22, 2006, a fire broke out in a private garage that was used as a warehouse for pyrotechnics for the New Year holidays. There was an explosion during the fire. The force of the explosion was such that the reinforced concrete garage was torn apart. One of the floors fell on Sergei Ryzhov, who died on the spot from his injuries.

Accidents on December 16:

Fire departments of SFS of Russia EMERCOM on RT had departures on alarms 48 times. Firefighters of the Republic eliminated 10 fires: in the residential sector-5 fires, a vehicle-1 fire, an unused building-1 fire, other objects-3 fires. Unfortunately, 1 person died. 1 person was injured, 2 people were rescued.
