There was a meeting of the Commission on Emergencies Prevention and Liquidation and Fire Safety Provision of the Republic of Tatarstan under the chairmanship of Aleksey Pesoshin with the participation of the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ildar Khalikov, in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan in the mode of video conference. On the eve of New Year celebrations there were discussed issues on provision of comprehensive safety of the population during holidays, as well as additional measures on provision of uninterrupted traffic in winter and stable operation of life support systems during negative meteorological conditions.

Good New Year spirit, surprises and a huge bag of joy and fun awaited children of employees of EMERCOM in Youth Theater on Bulak, today. The fairytale holiday was organized for the children by the leadership of the republican emergency department. Hospitable hostess of the celebration, Snegurochka, met the little guests.

This year, one square for launching New Year fireworks will operate in Kazan. It is equipped accordingly to all fire safety rules. It is located behind “Mega” mall at the crossroad of Adel Kutuy and Albert Kamaleev Streets. Employees of the Office of Civil Protection of Kazan Executive Committee made a trial launch of New Year firework in the presence of a fire crew and duty shift of rescuers. The territory was cleaned up and equipped with primary means of fire extinguishing.

The car park of FD-44 filled with a new fire truck. JSC “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” bought it for the fire and rescue department. The Chief of the first squad of federal fire service for the Republic of Tatarstan, Aleksey Shapovalov, thanked the company for giving the new fire truck.

At 7.25 P.M. on December 28, 2016, there was received report about that a 14-year-old boy was piled up with snow, he could not be found, need help. It turned out that the boy slid a hill down to a ravine with depth of 6 meters, avalanche descended behind him, after that the boy lost. A dog from cynology crew of Naberezhnye Chelny Search and Rescue Squad showed supposed spot. At 8.16 P.M. rescuers took out the child, swamped in snow at the depth of 1 meter. Preliminary diagnosis is hypothermia. He was hospitalized.

Fire departments of Federal Fire Service of Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan went on alert 57 times. Including garbage extinguishing – 3, false alarms – 21, short circuit of wiring without burning – 0, meal burning – 2, cooperation with other services – 13. Firefighters of the republic eliminated 9 fires, including residential sector – 7, outhouses – 1, various types of property – 1. 1 person was injured. 3 people died.

On the day of rescuer’s professional holiday, a four-year-old Tamerlan’s old dream was fulfilled. The boy wanted to get tangerines and a fire truck for New Year. Tamerlan’s family is himself and his mom, both of them have problems with health, they spend most of earned money on medicine. Thanks to a report on TV they managed to get support. When the Chief of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rafis Khabibullin, saw the little boy’s New Year message, he set a task to fulfill the desire.

In the honor of Rescuer’s Day of the Russian Federation a grand festive concert took place in the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan. Traditionally, it had a rich creative program and many pleasant surprises. Besides from the head of state, the Headquarters and the Ministry received a bulk of congratulatory telegrams from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, the Cabinet of Ministers, State Council, President’s Office and various ministries and departments.

The awards ceremony took place in the Fame Hall of Applied Fire Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Chief of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of EMERCOM of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rafis Khabibullin marked the necessity of close and fruitful work in the field of informing population on prevention against fires, emergency situations and safety provision on water bodies.
