In the beginning of 2017, the fire and rescue department No. 29 of the 1st squad on the protection of industrial facilities of JSC “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” marked its 50th anniversary. On January 1967 militarized fire department No. 29 was founded; its staff was 137 people. That years, employees of that newly founded department had hard time. Industrial facilities of the company handed over in short time and fires occurred very often at the start of production.

Incidents as of January 16:

Fire departments of Federal Fire Service of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan went on alert 42 times. Including garbage extinguishing – 3, false alarms – 18, short circuit of wiring without burning – 1, meal burning – 3, cooperation with other services – 5. Firefighters of the republic eliminated 5 fires, including residential sector – 1, outhouses – 3, various types of property – 1.

Employees of Kazan department of the Center of GIMS of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan finished checking the ice thickness at places of traditional Epiphany immersions, today. Holes were drilled in the presence of the media representatives on one of those places, which is located on the river Kazanka by the Church of the Miraculous Image of Christ the Redeemer. The ice thickness on the given spot was 43 cm. EMERCOM representatives recommend people with weakened health, those who has recently undergone surgery, who tend to sudden arterial pressure changes, pregnant women and those who drunk for courage, to refrain from immersion.

That was told by the Chief of the Safety on Water Bodies Department of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Yuri Venediktov, at the briefing for journalists, dedicated to the preparation and safety provision of the Orthodox holiday of Epiphany. The Head of Kazan Diocese Office, Aleksandr Pavlov, also answered questions of the media representatives.

The opening ceremony of XXVIII Republican Applied Fire Sport Winter Competitions among departments of the federal fire service of the Republic of Tatarstan passed on January 12, 2017. The contest took place in training center of the 2nd squad and lasted 2 days. This year, the tournament was attended by sportsmen from all over Tatarstan. After calculating points, referees gave the championship cup to KFK-1 from Nizhnekamsk. Sportsmen from KFK-2 (Almetyevsk) took deserved the second place. And KFK-7 from Kazan took the third place.

Including garbage extinguishing – 1, false alarms – 15, short circuit of wiring without burning – 1, meal burning – 4, cooperation with other services – 12. Firefighters of the republic eliminated 6 fires, including residential sector – 1, outhouses – 5.

Fire departments of Federal Fire Service of Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan went on alert 49 times. Including garbage extinguishing – 4, false alarms – 13, short circuit of wiring without burning – 1, meal burning – 4, cooperation with other services – 8. Firefighters of the republic eliminated 16 fires, including residential sector – 4, outhouses – 7, vehicles – 3, garden houses – 1.

At night on January 19, the Orthodox world will mark the holiday of Epiphany. Order and safety will be provided by police employees, medics, GIMS inspectors, rescuers and firefighters. All places of Epiphany immersions on the water will be inspected by departments of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan. 122 places for Epiphany immersions are planned to be organized in the republic, so far.

New Year in old style will come very soon. Usually, this holiday is marked not so rough like on December 31, but it also does not do without incidents, sometimes. Remember, that a drunk person may be guilty of a fire. In such condition, people not always can adequately analyze the situation, thus, save themselves in case of an accident. Moreover, due to such persons, others may die, as well.
