Yesterday’s Characteristic Incidents
Incidents as of August 25:
Fire departments of Federal Fire Service of Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan went on alert 131 times. Including burning garbage extinguishing – 35, false alarms – 51, stubble extinguishing – 1, dry grass extinguishing – 4, short circuit of wiring without burning – 2, burnt meal – 1, cooperation with other services – 10. Firefighters of the republic eliminated – 16 fires, residential sector – 4. 1 person was injured.
Causes: violation of electric equipment technical use rules – 3, careless using fire – 5, arson – 3, prank of children – 1, faulty vehicle systems and mechanisms – 2, violation of fire safety rules during furnace use – 1, wrong installation and defect in heating furnace and chimney – 1.
Departures of fire departments for rescuing at the elimination of the consequences of traffic accidents – 11 times.
Departures of voluntary fire protection units on firefighting – 5.
Departures of search and rescue units of EMERCOM of RT – 10 times. Doors unlocking – 2, traffic accidents – 1, searching operations on the water – 2, searching operations on the natural environment – 1, others – 4.
Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan Warn:
· do not enter the water after a long time spent under the sunlight (muscles may convulse);
· diving in unfamiliar places, swimming behind buoys and playing games that can threat people’s life and health is forbidden, also you should not swim on inflatable mattresses or bladders and get close to ships;
· do not swim in unequipped places, the bottom is unexplored and there are no rescuers around;
· in the waters with a large number of algae you should try to swim closer to the surface and not touching the plants. But if your hands and legs are entangled by stems, make a pause (take a “float” position to bob up) and release them;
· do not leave children unattended, and all the more, do not drink alcohol.
Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan addresses to its residents with a request on not leaving children unattended:
- It is especially dangerous to leave children alone locked in apartments and rooms. In case of fire they cannot quit burning room themselves.
- Remember that every adult is responsible to halt playing with fire and to explain children that it is dangerous.
- Take care of your children’s safety, explain them that they must quit room immediately during a fire, and then call single number of emergency services 112.
Remember! A fire does not occur by itself. Its cause is the human negligence and carelessness use of fire. A drunk person loses control of oneself and one’s actions, and all the more cannot bear any responsibility for another person's life.
