EMERCOM Staff Rescued 9 Fishermen’s Lives. Big Fines Await the Rescued

On November 28, 2015, there was received a report on breaking off of an ice block 5 km from the river bank, where 9 people were located at that moment, on the Kama near the settlement of Makarovka of Laishevsky Municipal District. Rescuers of Zonal Search and Rescue Squad No. 2 Under EMERCOM of the Republic of Tatarstan and workers of GIMS, which were on round-clock duty at places where fishermen step on ice in Laishevsky District, managed to reach to the broken ice with the help of two hoverships “Chivus-6” and “Chivus-10” and deliver the unlucky fishermen to the river bank. All of them will be penalized for violation of safety rules at water objects, because they stepped on ice the thickness of which is less than 7 cm.
