Recovery work on a dam at settlement Chebaksa of the Soviet district of Kazan will allow not to admit scale tragedy.

In a spring high water period of 2009 during the check by employees of Management of civil protection of executive committee of Kazan the fact of an emergency condition of a protective dam has been found out in a lake at Chebaksa settlement of the Soviet district of Kazan. It was found out that as a result of unapproved cut a water throughput pipe in diameter of 1200 mm there was an undermining of a dam body on 6-8 meters.

By estimates of experts, at the next high water of 2010 the dam simply would not sustain a water pressure. And after all, the water total amount in a dam made 347 thousand cubic meter. At break of a dam in a spring high water under the threat of flooding there could be inhabitants of the Kazan settlements Kinderi, Aki, Novaya Sosnovka, Beliankino with an aggregate number of 15 thousand 743 persons. The wave in height of 7,2 meters simply would take down settlements from and people victims could be estimated in tens.

- The city management had been accepted emergency measures on prevention of possible tragedy. Necessary money resources (one million rubles) have been found and already now recovery works on a dam are spending by forces of "Kazmetrostroi" and Open Society  “Trust company "Tatmelioratsiya"– the head of department of civil protection of executive committee of Kazan Ferdinand Timurhanov speaks. - Two new drain pipes in diameter of 1200 and 1000 mm are already laid, the dam body is under repair, replacement of two latches of emergency descent of water is planned.

The accepted emergency measures will allow to execute on time all necessary actions, but the main thing - the population of the settlements, can be assured of own safety in case of high water.
