On January 26, 2015, there was received a report on poisoning of two-people family (a woman born in 1976 and a girlie born in 2011) by carbon monoxide in a five-storey building by the address apartment 23, building 58, Yakupova St., Bugulma City. The victims were delivered to the central hospital of Bugulma.
During an inspection of the gas equipment by EPU “Bugulmagaz” employees, there was found a fault chimney draft of water heating gas geyser.
First aid for carbon monoxide poisoning:
- the intake of carbon monoxide should be eliminated;
- take a victim to fresh air;
- if a victim is conscious, he is needed to be laid, provided by rest and continuous access to fresh air (to be fanned by the newspaper, turn on a fan or air conditioner);
- if a victim is unconscious, it is necessary to immediately begin chest compressions and rescue breathing until the ambulance arrival or regaining consciousness;
- remember that when taking a victim to fresh air from the place of dangerous concentration of carbon monoxide first of all you need to protect yourself to not to be poisoned too. For this, you must need to act quickly and breathe through a handkerchief, or gauze.
