Today, employees of the central office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Tatarstan and its subordinate institutions have planted about 5,000 seedlings at a site near the village of Pigoli in the Laishevsky district. The event was held as part of the international campaign "Garden of Memory". This year's event takes on special significance in the context of the Year of Military and Labor Valor in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Tatarstan timed the planting of forests to several memorable and festive dates at once - the Day of Remembrance of employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia who died in the Line of Duty (last Friday in April), the Day of Participants in the Elimination of Consequences of Radiation Accidents and Disasters and the memory of victims of these accidents and Disasters (April 26), the Day of Fire Protection of Russia (April 30) and Victory Day. This decision was made by the staff of the Ministry at a staff meeting.
A pleasant completion of the work was a field table with potatoes baked on a campfire, hot tea from a samovar and sweets from the staff of the Stolbishchensk district forestry. In the coming days, forestry staff will monitor the condition of the new planting.
In total, it is planned to plant more than 1 million seedlings in the republic, each of which will become a living symbol of the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the peaceful sky above.
