Autumn Ice — Deceives and Ruins!

Due to a sharp decrease in air temperature last week, a process of ice formation is observed, with ice thickness from 1 cm to 3 cm in ponds and lakes of the republic, as well as on the river Kazanka. At the same time, large rivers, the Volga and Kama remain open. Going on ice with such thickness is life-threatening. Safe ice thickness capable of supporting the weight of a man: on lakes — more than 10 cm, as regards streaming rivers — not less than 12 cm.

— To date, there are changes in the legislation of the republic, that forbid going on ice with the thickness of less than 7 centimeters, — reminded to citizens deputy chief of GIMS department, Regina Gayazova. Breach of this rule provides a number of sanctions. There are already first victims of the thin autumn ice.
