To Prevent Accidents on the Water, Especially at Night

The second unscheduled topic of discussion at the meeting of Commission on the Prevention and Emergency Response and Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan was the situation with accidents on the water.

Chairman of KChS PB RT, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin raised an additional problem about the fact that in the current period of abnormally hot weather in Tatarstan cases of death on the water bodies of the country became more frequent. He gave the floor to Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan for Small Vessels, Ilham Adipovich Nasibullin, for information about incidents on the water.

In his speech, Ilham Nasibullin reported that the presence of a large number of water bodies in the territory of the republic creates the precondition for the emergence of numerous places of public recreation at the water. Every year, the highest number of fatalities on the water bodies of the republic falls in the swimming season. 48 people died on the water bodies since the beginning of the bathing season; 120 people died last year in the same period, a decrease of 60%.
