Russian Emergencies Ministry Cup races in fire and rescue sports have started in Kazan
The opening ceremony of the EMERCOM of Russia Cup in Fire and Rescue sports took place today in Tatarstan, in the sports capital of Russia, Kazan.
The strongest teams from 18 regions of the Russian Federation take part in the competition, which within three days will determine the winner of the main trophy in the overall standings based on the results of the results in three sports disciplines – overcoming the 100-meter obstacle course, climbing the assault ladder and the two-man event.
The appeal of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, to the participants of the competition was voiced by Rafis Khabibullin.
In the first half of the first day of the competition, the men showed their skills in climbing the assault ladder. In the afternoon, the strongest women in overcoming the hundred-meter obstacle course were identified.
It should be recalled that the hospitable Kazan is hosting the country's main winter starts in this sport, which have firmly taken their place among the most significant in the Russian sports calendar for the sixth time. About 450 of the strongest athletes gathered in the training arena of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan, who are ready to demonstrate their skills, character and will to win in an intense struggle.
