The international multisport tournament, held in the capital of Tatarstan, brought together about 5,000 athletes from more than 80 countries.
The grouping of forces and means of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan involved in ensuring security amounted to more than 500 people and about 100 pieces of equipment. Round-the-clock duty was organized at the opening and closing venues of the games, event venues, accommodation facilities, and transport infrastructure facilities of the city.
On the eve of the tournament, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia conducted fire-tactical exercises at facilities with a mass presence of people, and also worked out the interaction between the links of the territorial subsystem and the functional subsystems of the Emergency Situations Ministry.
In addition, the competition facilities were inspected by employees of the state fire supervision of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for compliance with fire safety requirements, and GIMS inspectors ensured the safety of rowing competitions in the waters of Kazan.
