This was told to representatives of the city and republican mass media by the chief state inspector for small vessels of the Republic of Tatarstan Yuri Venediktov during a briefing held today at the Tatar-inform news agency
At the beginning of his speech, Yuri Venediktov announced the results of the bathing season, which ended at the end of summer. During the bathing season of this year, 62 incidents were registered, 52 people were killed, including 6 children, 31 people were rescued, including 11 children.
During the same period last year, 71 incidents were registered, 57 people were killed, including 9 children, 50 people were rescued, including 3 children.
The main reason for the death of people in the summer is bathing in places not equipped with rescue posts, therefore, joint work with municipalities continued to increase the number of bathing places equipped according to safety requirements - beaches. In the bathing season of 2023, 56 beaches have been declared, which is 8 more than last year. 10 places of mass recreation of the population near water bodies were equipped with rescue posts.
