The Republic of Tatarstan maintains positive dynamics in reducing the number of deaths on water bodies
Today, the head of the Department of Human Safety at water Bodies of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Regina Gayazova, summed up the results of the bathing season in the Republic of Tatarstan during a briefing for media representatives held on the information platform of the Tatar-Inform news agency.
Since the beginning of the bathing season, 63 incidents on the water have been registered in the republic (the same period last year – 71), as a result of which 53 people died, including 6 children (the same period last year – 57, including 9 children). Among the rescued - 31 people, 11 of them children (the same period last year- 50, including 3 children).
And the sad statistics from the beginning of the year looks like this:
89 incidents on the water were registered (the same period last year – 98);
number of dead – 66, including 8 children (the same period last year – 71, including 9 children);
65 people were rescued, including 12 children (the same period last year- 102, including 11 children).
Among the main causes of accidents on the water , Regina Gayazova noted:
- bathing in an unequipped place, for this reason 42 people, including 8 children, said goodbye to their lives;
- falling into the water, which killed 18 people.
The main reason for the death of children on the water is insufficient parental control and lack of good swimming skills. The victims of the water element, we recall, were 8 minors, 12 children were rescued.
