Rafis Khabibullin: the reason for the occurrence of wildfires is the irresponsible and negligent attitude of our citizens and a number of officials to fire safety issues
The Head of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Rafis Khabibullin, made this statement today during an unscheduled meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan. The issue was discussed: "On additional measures to ensure fire safety in the forest fund of the republic during the passage of high temperatures."
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chairman – First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin. Opening the meeting, he noted that among the many natural factors that determine the state of the forest fund of the republic, forest fires play a dominant role.
Presenting the weather forecast, Sergey Zakharov assured that no significant precipitation is expected in the coming days on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The air temperature will warm up to 25-32 degrees during the day. There is hope for light rains only on May 27 and 28.
Therefore, a class 5 fire hazard is expected in the forests and a storm warning has been extended until May 29 due to high temperatures.
