Planned fire and tactical exercises involving the forces and means of the 7th fire and rescue squad and rescuers, as well as police officers, ambulance medics and services of the Kazan metro were held at the Yashlek station of the Kazan metro tonight. The introductory part on extinguishing the fire that occurred on the rolling stock at the Yashlek station was worked out.
According to the plan of the exercise, when the train was moving from the Kozya Sloboda station in the direction of the Yashlek station, a fire occurred in the third car. The train driver brought the train to the Yashlek station. Before the arrival of fire departments, the staff of the facility evacuated 124 people. Four injured passengers remained in the smoke-filled room. They were evacuated by the fire departments that arrived at the scene.
Also at this time, the gas and smoke protection units deployed fire hoses, laid trunk lines from hydrants located inside the metro. In total, 18 units of basic and special fire and rescue equipment and 75 personnel of the Kazan Fire and Rescue garrison were involved in the exercises.
