A sharp temperature drop when a gas cylinder is brought from the cold into a warm room leads to an explosion
This was stated today by the deputy head of the Department of Supervision and Preventive Work of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan, Colonel of the Internal Service Maxim Truschin during a briefing with media representatives. The topic was "On fire safety requirements in the operation of gas equipment".
At the beginning of his speech, Maxim Truschin noted that with the onset of cold weather, the number of cases of gas explosions in residential buildings has increased. On December 4, 5 of this year, three explosions occurred in residential buildings due to improper operation of gas equipment.
There was also a gas explosion in a residential building in the city of Zavolzhye, Nizhny Novgorod region. After the explosion, a fire started. There were no casualties.
