Continuing the winning traditions
The XV Youth Open Championship of the Republic of Tatarstan in fire and rescue sports, dedicated to the memory of the outstanding fire chief Nikolai Matveevich Lobov, has started in Kazan. Six teams entered the fight for the main prize, including boys and girls representing the physical education teams of the fire brigades of Kazan, Nizhnekamsk and Almetyevsk. Children from the Chuvash Republic also take part in open competitions.
The opening ceremony of the youth championship took place in the sports arena of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan. Memorable souvenirs and a weighty chuck-chuck were distributed to all teams.
Competitions for boys and girls were held in three age categories in two disciplines – climbing the assault ladder and overcoming the 100-meter obstacle course.
The closing ceremony and awarding of the winners will take place today at 14 o'clock.
