Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations continue to measure the thickness of ice in the places of equipment of the Jordan for bathing on the feast of the Epiphany. In Kazan, Orthodox churches equip four places for citizens and guests of the capital for epiphany bathing, three of them are open Jordan - this is on Lake Verkhny Kaban near the Sokol cafe and Borisovskaya Street, near the village of Krasnaya Gorka near the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the fourth place is in the village of Savinovo near the spring.
Today, SISV inspectors, together with a representative of the Civil Protection Department at the Executive Committee of the city of Kazan, measured the ice near the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, where tomorrow representatives of the temple will carve the Jordan in the ice. The inspectors drilled four test holes, in which the thickness of the ice varied from 30 to 35 cm. Bottom ice is considered safe even for mass exit of people.
