The EMERCOM provided assistance to fishermen cut off from the shore

16 December 2021, Thursday

On the afternoon of December 15, it was reported that three fishermen on the ice of the Volga River near the village of Ilyinskoye, Tetyushsky district, could not reach the shore. A crack has opened, and the ice is cracking under them. Employees of the round-the-clock temporary rescue post went to the scene on a hovercraft. The distance to the scene was about 35 km.
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan notes that the process of ice formation in the reservoirs of the republic continues. Lakes, ponds, small and large rivers were covered with ice. However, on large rivers - Volga, Kama, Sviyaga, Vyatka - there are cracks in the channel part, the ice is heterogeneous (due to unstable weather and precipitation).
The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges fishermen to observe safety rules and not to go out on thin ice.
