The EMERCOM of Russia deeply mourns the tragic death of the Minister of EMERCOM Yevgeny Nikolaevich Zinichev

The head of the EMERCOM of Russia, Yevgeny Zinichev, tragically died saving a person while performing his official duty on September 8, 2021 in Norilsk during an interdepartmental exercise to protect the Arctic zone from emergencies.
The staff of the EMERCOM of Russia expresses its deep condolences to the family and friends of Yevgeny Nikolaevich. His losing is a heavy, irreparable loss for the department and the state. He was a Real Person with a capital letter. A true Russian officer, who selflessly and with self-sacrifice gave all his knowledge, skills, experience and finally his life to the service of the Fatherland.
Yevgeny Nikolaevich raised a worthy son and treated his three grandchildren with incredible love.
Evgeny Nikolaevich Zinichev was born on August 18, 1966 in Leningrad and devoted his entire life to serving the Motherland.
In 1984-1986, he served as a senior sailor in the Northern Fleet (i. Novaya Zemlya).
From 1987 to 2018, he served in various positions in the state security agencies. He worked in the Central Office of the FSB of Russia, went from an operational officer to the deputy director of the FSB of Russia.
Since 2014, he has worked as deputy head of the Service for the Protection of the Constitutional Order and the Fight against Terrorism of the FSB of Russia.
In June 2015, he was appointed head of the Department of the FSB of Russia for the Kaliningrad region.
In May 2018, by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, E. N. Zinichev was appointed Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters.
On December 21, 2020, he was awarded the military rank of Army General.
Evgeny Nikolaevich Zinichev was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky; the Order" For Services to the Fatherland" of the IV degree with the image of swords; the medal of the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" of the II degree and other departmental awards.
The bright memory of him will always remain in our hearts.
