About the current situation with fires and the prevention of child deaths and injuries in fires
They spoke today at a press conference for journalists of the city and republican mass media, organized on the media platform of the Tatarinform news agency, with the participation of the head of the department – the head of the Department for organizing supervisory and preventive measures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, Colonel of the Internal Service Maxim Trushchin.
This year (as of 13.04.2021), as a result of fires, 2 children have already died and 13 were injured of various degrees of severity (for 2020. - 2 children died, 7 children were injured).
Both cases of death of minors occurred at the age of 7 to 13 years.
Injuries of varying severity were received by 5 minors under the age of 6 years, 7-aged 7 to 13 years, 1-aged 14 to 17 years.
Given that the main share of fires with the death of minors occurs due to childish pranks with fire and leaving children alone at home without supervision, we recommend that you follow the following rules:
Do not allow children to play with matches and lighters.
Do not allow or instruct children to independently use electric and gas appliances, as well as stove equipment.
When a child shows an interest in fire, it is necessary to explain that matches and lighters are objects for adults, with which you need to be careful.
Store matches, lighters, flammable liquids, pyrotechnic products in a place inaccessible and invisible to children.
Explain to the children that you can not build fires, set fire to dry grass, garbage and poplar fluff.
Learn with your children the last name, first name, home address, fire department call numbers (from the city "01", from the mobile "101", a single emergency call number" 112") and in what cases you can call these numbers, as well as your mobile number.
Most importantly, do not leave your children alone at home without supervision.
