Since the ice and to the full opening of the ice in the Kuybyshev reservoir of the patrol group Kamskoye Ustyje inspection of the plot of the Center of SISV of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan together with the staff of RTS and police patrols on the SVP "Slavir-9" in the waters of the Kuibyshev reservoir.
During the patrol, ice thickness measurements were made in the area of the "Armenian Beach", the pier of the village of Kamskoye Ustye, near the village of Kuibyshev Zaton. The thickness of the pure ice ranged from 25 to 30 cm. However, the density of the ice was not the same everywhere. The ice is covered with snow from 30 to 40 cm thick, and water is under the snow.
During the patrols, the SISV inspectors repeatedly met the owners of snowmobiles, who, not knowing the situation, got stuck in the snow porridge and had to provide assistance. The fishermen were simply not prepared for such an event: there are no tow ropes, not even shovels and other trench tools.
With such a state of ice conditions, it can be assumed that with a sharp increase in temperature, the ice under the snow will quickly melt, which will create a real threat to people in the water area.
To ensure that active recreation does not turn into trouble, snowmobile owners should remember:
- it is forbidden to go out on the ice of reservoirs during the periods of formation and melting of ice;
- you can not go on the ice in places where information boards are installed "Driving on the ice is prohibited", "Going on the ice is prohibited"
- before you go on the ice, you need to assess its strength and quality;
- when crossing a river or lake on ice in an unfamiliar area, ask local residents about the state of the ice cover, make sure that there are convenient exits and exits to the shore;
- while moving on the ice, slow down and be careful;
- when crossing a section of the reservoir on the ice, do not stop until you reach the shore;
- before crossing the ice over a water barrier, explore the presence of areas with wet snow, avoid driving on wet snow;
- if you get on a snowmobile in the wet snow, do not release the gas until you go to the dense, dry snow;
- if the ski tracks or snowmobile trail darken and water appears on them, immediately turn off the ice to the shore;
- when driving in poor visibility, slow down to a safe speed, carefully watch the track to notice an unexpected obstacle in time;
- maintain a safe distance from the snowmobile in front of you;
- move at night only on paved roads, do not leave them on unfamiliar terrain, be careful of falling into an ice hole or sagebrush.
