The longest ice crossing on the Arakchino - Verkhny Uslon route in the republic has opened in Tatarstan

15 December 2020, Tuesday

This decision was taken today by the staff of the Centre SISV EMERCOM of Russia on RT on results of technical inspections of the ice road through the river Volga on the route Arakchino - Verkhny Uslon. The readiness of the crossing, the availability of all necessary technical conditions and the thickness of the ice were checked by the inspectors of the SISV Center.
Employees of the SISV Center checked the thickness of the ice road, drilling holes every 50 meters. On different sections of the ice road, the thickness of the natural shell is from 25 to 35 cm, which allows you to organize the passage of vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons.
This 3,200-meter-long ice crossing allows motorists to shorten the journey from Kazan to Verkhny Uslon by 50 km. The "private traders" also win in terms of time, because they spend only 10 to 15 minutes on the way along the "ice" road.
