An ice crossing route "Zelenodolsk and Nizhnie Viazovye" is opened

11 December 2020, Friday

Technical examination of the "ice road" the staff of the Centre SISV EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan was held today and gave approval for its operation. Now motorists will get from Zelenodolsk to the Lower Vyazovye not by a ring road, but by an ice crossing, which reduces their journey by about 75 kilometers, while saving an hour and a half of time. The ferry operates around the clock.

 During the survey, the SISV inspectors checked the thickness of the ice, the approval documents approved by all Executive authorities, the availability of rescue equipment and communications equipment. The thickness of the ice is now from 25 to 35 centimeters, which allows traffic with a permissible mass of up to 3.5 tons. At the same time, motorists, of course, must comply with the rules of driving on the ice road - the speed is not higher than 15 km per hour, when driving on the ferry, you must observe a distance of 50 to 100 meters. According to the rules, you also need to drop off passengers, unfasten your seat belts and keep the car door ajar. All these rules will ensure safety when using ice crossings.

For reference: 3 more ice crossings are planned to open:

- Mamadysh MR, across the Kama river, along the route Sokolka village - Novy Zakamsky village (technical examination is scheduled for 14.12.2020);

- Verkhneuslon MR, across the Volga river, along the route Arakchino village (Kazan city) - Verkhny Uslon village (technical examination is scheduled for 15.12.2020);
