18 November 2020, Wednesday

Today, on November 17, in the Volga water area near the Sviyazhsk nature reserve, another Raid was held to identify violators during the autumn ice freeze.

- The thickness of the ice on Sviyaga is only 5-6 centimeters, on the Volga, in places, 3-4 cm. This is not enough to support even the weight of a child, let alone an adult. But the first frosts inspired fans of ice fishing, and they are fully equipped, risking their lives, have already followed the river thin ice, - says the head of the Zelenodolsk branch of the SISV center Sergey Evseev.

There are more than enough fishermen. Only for a couple of hours of the raid, representatives of the Executive Committee drew up 10 protocols. Going out on ice that is less than 7 centimeters thick is punishable by a fine of one and a half to two thousand rubles.

Fishermen are given leaflets and conduct preventive conversations.

Looking at adults, children are in a hurry to "test" the ice for strength.
