In the Year of Fire Service and on the eve of autumn holiday, students of the 5th grade of Nizhnekamsk lyceum No. 35 had and opportunity to visit the fire and rescue department No. 91 which is a part of the first squad of federal fire service for the Republic of Tatarstan, and learn much interesting about fire service and informative about fire safety behavior. The children were accompanied by their teachers and parents.

Over 1.5 thousand private houses and flats in the Republic of Tatarstan are cut off from life supporting resources. There is no gas, nor electricity in these houses due to communal debts. That was told by the Deputy Chief of the Supervisory Affairs Department of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan, lieutenant-colonel of inner service, Maksim Truschin, at an unplanned meeting of the Commission on Prevention and Liquidation of Emergencies and Fire Safety Provision of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Incidents as of October 26:

Fire departments of Federal Fire Service of Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan went on alert 58 times. Including burning garbage extinguishing – 7, false alarms – 21, short circuit of wiring without burning – 2, meal burning – 1, cooperation with other services – 9. Firefighters of the republic eliminated – 9 fires, residential sector – 5, outhouses – 2, garden houses – 1, various types of property – 1. 2 people were injured.

Within the year of fire service in the system of EMERCOM of Russia, workers of the separate post on the protection of the village Bolshoe Shemyakino of Apastovo squad of fire service of the Republic of Tatarstan organized and held an excursion for students of Bolshoe Shemyakino school of Tetyushi Municipal District. Children listened the history of fire service establishment in Russian and the Republic of Tatarstan, got familiarized with the everyday work of firefighters in fire station, and participated in a talk on fire safety rules.

Fire departments of Federal Fire Service of Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan went on alert 62 times. Including burning garbage extinguishing – 3, false alarms – 32, short circuit of wiring without burning – 4, meal burning – 4, cooperation with other services – 8. Firefighters of the republic eliminated – 3 fires, residential sector – 1, vehicles – 1, garden houses – 1.

Within command and staff drill with government bodies, organizations and enterprises of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, there were held events on switching to wartime in conditions of using usual means of destruction in Kazan, today. Most of the residents of the house No. 94 in Okolnaya Street in Kazan visited the basement of their own home for the first time and learned what actions are necessary to be done during unexpected attack of the enemy, and what to take in case of rocket bomb attacks at the moment of air-raid alarm.

Demonstrative fire tactics drill successfully passed in Nizhnekamsk at training polygon of OFPS-1 for the Republic of Tatarstan. The drill was attended by managers of industrial enterprises which saw the operation of fire technique and firefighters. Total of 12 items of fire technique and more than 40 people from seven fire and rescue departments of the squad involved.

The Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan warns: due to coming period of freezing-over water bodies are more dangerous for people’s life and health. Firstly, sailors should consider weather conditions (it is better not to sail during strong wing), keep safe distance to the boundaries of the fairway and have rescue means: life jackets, worn on everybody, who is on a small vessel, and a lifebuoy.

Including burning garbage extinguishing – 8, false alarms – 34, short circuit of wiring without burning – 4, meal burning – 1, cooperation with other services – 10. Firefighters of the republic eliminated – 7 fires, residential sector – 6, various types of property – 1. 3 people were injured. 4 people were rescued.

With coming cold fire hazard period comes. The statistics claim that the most number of fires during this time occur in residential sector. The main cause of fires which happen in houses is the human factor – violation of gas appliances use and maintenance rules. The natural gas became our helper during meal cooking on a gas oven in urban, rural and suburban conditions long time ago. But the gas is a friend and a helper until it goes out of control.
