IN MEMORY OF THE FALLEN BROTHER IN ARMS

On March 11, 2015, gas and smoke protection service’s crew, headed by Lieutenant Colonel of inner service, Sergey Kostin, had time to save five people out of ruins when “Admiral” trade center was in fire in Kazan. Colonel Kostin himself was getting out the last of his crew. During the evacuation building constructions collapsed. His body was found under the ruins at 10.30 A.M. on March 13. Sergey Kostin was awarded the Order of Courage (posthumously). By the decision of the President of Tatarstan, a well-maintained 3-bedroom apartment in a high-rise building was purchased for Kostins. Also, it was decided to install a tombstone on Sergey Kostin’s grave by voluntary donations of employees of departments of the Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan and EMERCOM of the Republic of Tatarstan.
