Fire Service of the Republic of Tatarstan is 10 Years Old

On June 5, 2006, the Cabinet of Minister if the Republic of Tatarstan signed the decree No. 272 “About Establishment of the state institution of “Fire Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan”. That department was created in order to protect settlements, objects of economics from fires, and for the organization of fire preventive work with people. At present, fire service of the Republic of Tatarstan is composed of 7 squads and 101 fire departments, with the total staff of 1 183 workers. The secured area has 44 objects of social protection with people staying at night, 10 of them are nursing homes; 864 general education objects, including 427 schools and 337 kindergartens; 62 district hospitals; 109 059 private houses.

For these 10 years, the fire departments have moved out more than 14 thousand times for fire elimination, traffic accidents and other emergencies. They have saved 198 people’s lives and material values worth more than 462 million rubles. During traffic accidents consequences liquidation workers of the departments rescued 921 people.
