GIMS Inspectors Hold Raids on Prevention of Accidents on the Ice with Fishermen

16 March 2016, Wednesday

‘Although, the thickness of ice cover is yet big enough – nearly 30 centimeters, but its structure isn’t already homogeneous, it’s friable. And the stream permanently undermines the ice making it thinner’, explains Acting Chief of Zelenodolsk Inspectorial Department of GIMS, Aleksey Deyev. ‘That’s why we start preventive work with fishermen in advance, before the ice will become very thin, in order to remind, warn about the danger of unreliable springtime ice.’ Within the raid, inspectors held explanatory conversations with fishermen and gave memos on safety location on the ice.
